It’s great! Like any big company, you need to carve out your own niche of people you regularly talk to (outside of projects). But from my experience the people are smart/capable and fun to work with. Interesting projects across the board.
I did :) DM me if you need a referral.
If you are good at something, chances are you'd be plotted on those projects. If you are someone who understands software and business then you're in high value. If you'd like some demand work, if you can show from past any experience or help with proposals then you'd have a chance as you've established how you are to work with.
It will be a tremendous change moving from a boutique firm to EY. The culture is good but you will be required to do a lot more administrative tasks than you would have been doing at your previous job. At the end of the day it just consumes more time. But I have found EY to be a solid company overall
I personally like the culture. Especially IBP projects are very global (think of having Germans, Chinese and Americans in one call) hence you get to work with very different type of people and you don’t get stuck with just one way of working. At 10YOE you’d be looking into more senior sales positions or architect roles. Those are extremely different type of roles, so be sure to know what you want and express that clearly to the people interviewing. Otherwise you might end up doing something you might dislike.
