It's true, they're on £75k. £37.5 each
There’s multiple dimensions to this. That is not a crazy leap.
Creatives aren’t just paid for their book and awards. They’re also paid for their potential. A creatives book is a reflection of where they’ve been. They might of shown the CCO spec / bottom draw ideas that hasn’t been bought which dazzled. This is common in the interview process. Atm work is dying daily due to cost of living crisis and client budgets being squeezed so that’s created more empathy from CCOs.
Creative departments at big network agencies are really struggling to recruit at the moment and have loaded up on expensive freelancers.
Maybe 75k each on these two creatives is cheaper than the freelancers they currently have to fork out for?
It’s also likely they’ll be unable to leave on that salary until they’ve made more work. That will take years. So you’ve bought their loyalty as very few agencies would match it - you included by the sounds of it.
It’s just money, agencies have tonnes of it. They’re desperate to recruit.
There’s also wider market forces at play beyond
‘Book and award’s’
damn, I work in-house and earn nowhere near as much. and I'm closing in on a senior title.
Unlikely
Jeez… are they being promoted to senior
Nope
I believe it. Salaries for mid-weight creatives have taken a big leap in the past couple years in my experience.
what’s a london strat director make in comparison? creative salaries are always higher.
£80 - £120k. I’m senior and I make £75k
Where is this big name but not hot agency and when can I apply 😂
OP, have you guys hired their replacement yet? I’m midweight as well and I’m looking 👀
