Applied for a B4 senior forensic role, but was not even granted an interview after my initial phone screen with HR; I’m confused why because i thought they needed bodies. My background includes 4 years of forensic experience on multiple investigations and program oversights, 5 years in other professional, non-forensic roles, and i have both a CFE and a CPA under my belt. The phone screen was basically HR asking if i have used google suite and tableau

Try a firm outside of the Big 4 maybe? The Big 4 aren’t even that strong in forensics anyway take a look at the consulting firms, investment banks, smaller accounting firms, or boutiques in your area

like

I’d disagree there. There are plenty of posts here talking about the differences between big4 and other shops. All are strong it just depends on the area and type of work you want to do.

Did you try following up? What was the role? Feel free to DM and I’d be happy to refer you

I don’t have previous experience but looking to transition into forensics and being left on read by B4 🤷‍♂️

I understand why I’m being treated that way. Sorry to hear you’re facing similar challenges. Maybe check out the boutique firms?

Do you need visa sponsorship or are you an American national?

BAH does forensics? I thought they were strictly on the cyber / strategy side.

What company and what level were you looking to join?

Pwc. Senior associate level.

Same thing happened to me. Sounds like same or similar role as well. Spoke to the recruiter, provided my availability, and was told to standby for scheduling.

Question: I currently work as an inside sales account manager selling a wide portfolio of IT products. I’ve been recruited for a role that would be an outside sales role selling ONLY a software solution that Im able to sell at my current company (but usually don’t due to other options that we are compensated better off of.) The new role would have some overlap with current customers that I work closely with now (one being a VERY large client.) Would this violate a non-compete/solicitation?

Hey! I work at a healthcare start up and I earn $95k an year as a Software Engineer II based out on Austin, TX. Recently I interviewed with Visa, Austin and got an offer for the Senior Software Engineer role with base - $125k and a sign on bonus - $10k which totals to $135k overall comp. When I tried negotiating the base salary they said that the comp team isn’t budging on it due to team metrics and my experience (2.5 years as SDE). Is this a good offer to take?

Curious what people think of non-Russians, who live and work in Russia. I am originally from another country but did my bachelors and have been working there for a few years. Now that i am home, it has become difficult. I have lots of friends (girls), therefore i am always with them when not working, and she doesn't like it much as my ex is one (TBC)

Protip: If you're trying to get a referral/coffee chat at an obscure company or one that doesn't have a lot of Fishbowl user participation, you can "search" for the company name you're targeting, filter by "people," and now you see everyone on the app who works for that company. You can scroll down to the title most relevant to the position you're seeking, and cold message them for a referral. Just be extra polite, because you're reaching out to them, not the other way around. E.g., Starbucks:

Seeking advice. Came into consulting late, after 8 YOE in federal gov. Hired on as a consultant despite exp, and spent last ~4 years in investigations/risk, first at fairly well-known mid-tier firm then a boutique. Has anyone used PracticeDump to study for CFE? Is it legit? I’m thinking of getting it since it’s so much cheaper than the one offered by ACFE website

like

I was wondering if the review course “CPE Self Study Course” for the CFF was enough preparation to study and pass the CFF exam. The CFE review course was enough and like if you get a question wrong it explains it well so that when it comes up in a different way in the real exam you can still get it. But when I saw the outline for the CFF material and there seems to be a lot of topics so I was wondering if the review course was sufficient considering this exam is also multiple choice. Thanks!
