just agree beforehand that you will do the negotiating/speaking, or at least agree on your strategy. i did it 4+ times with my last partner and they hated negotiating and got nervous so i always did it. worked for us
My partner and I did it together. She did the talking while I was on the line. Worked out just fine! Agree with CD1, just decide beforehand who is going to lead the convo.
Do it together. My partner and I did all 3xs we changed jobs. Now we freelance and trade of depending on who had the initial recruiter connection. But we obviously mutually agree on an amount beforehand. Your a team! They are buying you as such they should pay you the same.
Yep. My partner and negotiated every move together. We’d agree on what we wanted before hand, even vacation days. Then, we’d have the conversation with the recruiter. One of us usually took the lead. Then, the other would chime in to make it clear that we were both in alignment. There wouldn’t be any side negotiations over here.
Would you not ask for same pay?
Yes but if you two ultimately end up at different salaries, will that be ok? If your aim is to get equal pay then yes have those conversations as a team, insist on equal pay, and you lead those conversations since negotiation is your strength
