Just certs

It's company specific, but degrees are less frequently required for Salesforce roles where experience is highly valued - architect, etc. Entry level and people manager jobs will often require them.
I see a lot of job postings asking for CS degree or 5 years experience or something like that. So, it probably doesn’t hurt to have one though it’s not necessary.
Probably wouldn’t return to university to get it unless you could do it in a year.
Not required, but…
1. Degree could be a tiebreaker in a tight job market.
2. Career advancement (moving up the ladder) may require degree at some point, especially senior exec roles.
Mentor
Not required but degree is needed to get into big companies.
