Are layoffs coming?

Hi, received an offer from another Big4 in Amsterdam (currently working in Eastern Europe), but relocating, I’m concerned about potential layoffs in the coming period being the last to join the team.

Anyone think Salesforce will have layoffs in the near future?

I was laid off this month from a US-based company where I've been a reporter for the past 3 years or so... I live in Europe. I wonder if I'm likely to have luck with other remote-friendly US companies. Or are we already past that?

I’ve been on the bench with J1 for about 3 months. I was worried that because I couldn’t find another project, I would get laid off so I found J2, which pays more, is very meeting heavy, but I really like. I’ve kept J1 because I’m still on the bench doing absolutely nothing and getting paid. Thinking about looking for a role on a project with J1 that’s not along my career path but will allow for me to do work with no calls so that I can manage both jobs. Does anyone have experience or advice?

Soft layoffs at ProServe today ?

My agency laid off ~20 people (instead of execs taking pay cuts) and 4 days later send an email asking us to submit dance videos wearing swag for the agency IG...🥺 I hate it here I miss my teammates!

Is it any surprise we’re seeing mass layoff in tech? Years of rich friends hiring rich friends with no work ethic has lead us here. I know way too many tech people who work maybe an hour a day followed by errands and traveling. A lot of getting in these places is who you know, apparently that doesn’t work out like it used to. The amount of people who worked for Meta, Apple, Amazon, etc for a few months / maybe a year is astounding. it’s around that time frame a boss can tell if you’re worth it

My friend started a job as an account executive in early March, just got laid off today. Ouch.

Anyone have any idea when the hiring freeze might end within AWS ProServ? I’m currently at Amazon and have a TS clearance, PMP & CSM. I come from a Big4 consulting firm with a background in Enterprise Performance. I’ll be honest and say I’m not feeling very safe in my current role with the ongoing layoffs. Instead of leaving, I’d love to go back to my “consulting roots” and join the ProServ team. I’m taking my AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner exam next weekend. Hoping this freeze is lifted soon.

Is current layoffs only happening in Amazon US offices or Amazon India offices as well ?

Does anybody else get frustrated when recruiters care about those who were effected by layoffs more than other job seekers? Like yea I am sorry about their layoffs but I have been seeking a job before their them, I feel like it’s unfair. When someone losses a job they become a job seeker like the rest of us.

I took a product management course this year and it felt really good and different from the day to day of Talent Acquisition but I couldn’t help but wonder if it was the wrong time for this considering the state of tech. I got laid off due to economic impact recently and would appreciate any tips on how best to pivot careers to product as I am beginning to think that the only sustainable path for a recruiter is to start a business of your own.

Has anyone working tech for a bank been laid off yet? Tech layoffs all over the media but no one is talking about developers at banks (who make up 1/3 of headcount in some cases)

A long post: seeking some perspective. My husband of 2 years that I’ve been in a relationship with for more than 8 years just woke up one day and told me that he’s unhappy in our relationship.
