Definitively. Everyone's hiring. Money when transferring is good. One horizontal opportunity I'm looking at comes with a 80% net total comp increase.

Internally, not taking more risks. The jib hasn't changed and annoyingly, neither has comp structure.

How's the situation at yours? Payrise?

Don't know yet still waiting for annual review. But there has been a steady amount of new positions

Please help. I’ve moved up the ranks pretty quickly at the company I work for to become a Principal SE. My manager thinks the best next step for me is to move into management and leadership and has started pushing me to apply for an engineering manager role. They say that I will be a good fit because of my strong technical background paired with the leadership and people skills I display currently.

I’m torn because I do love being an IC but I’m interested in leadership also. What do I do?

I have been looking at the curriculums for Harvard Business School's Master of Business Administration and Harvard Extension School's Master's in Management. They both have the same requirements, generally speaking, including a field immersion course that serves as a capstone in the Master's in Management, which is fairly new. If I am not able to gain admission to Harvard Business School, but wanted a similar educational experience to become a consultant, should I attend Harvard Extension?
