Are there better sites to look for another job in asset allocation than LinkedIn?

I am feeling stuck in my current team and casually looking, however I feel like every role I see is just a resume farm for a larger employer and not actually hiring. It takes months before these applications even hit the “review” phase. Also those in my network aren’t really hiring right now.

I’m based out of the Midwest so there isn’t really a robust local market either.

Any downside to buying a 1bed 170k starter house instead of paying 1.5k in rent for a couple of years? Living with parents and thinking of getting a new place post covid.
