Are we just posting screenshots with people's names on them over here? Really beats the purpose of using a platform like Fishbowl where you get to enjoy anonymity but sure, I'll enjoy the ride with the rest of you! It really does seem intrusive though! Am I the only one here who thinks so?

You mean screenshots of people's public posts on LinkedIn? Where even if you hide their name and picture, you can locate the post by Googling the text?

like

You're right. That didn't even cross my mind, I feel stupid now :D. I just felt like it's so intrusive to be discussing someone on a whole other platform ... and they have no idea it's happening

I don’t see any recent ones with this happening what are you referring too. But also to echo D1 we are not displaying private info, these are public facing LinkedIn posts that the individuals themselves put out to the world.

Yep, haven't seen recent ones but most of the screenshots posted on this group almost always don't have the name scratched out. But you both are right,it's public anyway. It's the just the conversation around it.

I hear you OP but I can't help but agree with the rest.

This one is going to make some of y’all mad, but it’s so annoyingly unnecessary. The most irritating part is “is it a shirt day or a skirt day”…. Like women don’t wear shirts with skirts and men don’t wear shirts with pants. Shirts and skirts are not mutually exclusive. I’ll just leave this here.

Biggest cringe for me has got to be when people include “ex-<company name>” in their title… see it for loads of the big 4 firms and I’m thinking wow you must love slave drivers that underappreciate you 🤣

LinkedIn is going full boomer-Facebook complete with pictures of a computer screen rather than a screenshot or “share” 😐 comments were fun too.

There really is such a direct correlation between cringey title and cringey posts.

Before LinkedIn...to me, the king of professional cringey was Shingy. Do you guys remember him? He was aol's overpaid "digital prophet" and got paid to visit companies at lunchtime and babble the same kind of nonsense we now call "LinkedIn cringe".

Does anyone else feel that the more content someone puts in their LinkedIn headline, the more full of it they are? I say this as someone with a bunch of stuff lol but at least it’s all at one company and accurate.

I’m talking mostly about two kinds of people. 1. The influencer who is actually unemployed, but lists 25 BS things they do
2. The brand collector, who writes “ex-“ for every former company they worked at and school they went to. Maybe less full of it but still insufferable.
