First and foremost, get plenty of rest and make time to get some exercise every day. Too much work and too much sitting is seriously bad and a legit health hazard. Also, always be ready to walk away from something if it gets too involved and makes too many demands on your time. And always beware of mission creep, that thing where tasks become more involved and pretty soon you're doing a lot more than you signed up for.

I think that being present in small meetings and making everyone you work with feel like you're totally focused on the task at hand is one of the main skills people in OE need to master. Even if you completely switch gears after the meeting, giving everyone the sense that they're the most important person in the room (so to speak) is the best way to have them on your side even if you're not picking up extra work or whatever.

That's a great point! Being and staying focused on the task(s) at hand are helpful, which may also make the day go by quickly. One does not always have to make friends with co-workers, but mutual respect is important.
