PA is not a place for people who have a chronic illness. You can learn plenty in industry.
Eh I disagree. I have a chronic illness and have worked in PA for almost ten years. It’s doable. Just requires communication and discipline to take care of yourself.
Work life balance can exist in public accounting. Some firms cap at 50 hours, while some can work 70-80 hour weeks. Public will expose you to much more and allow you to grow much quicker. It's easier to make the switch to an industry role after you spend some time in public compared to vise versa. Public accounting also offers much more flexibility throughout the year, which could be a benefit with your illness. Maybe give public a shot first then make the switch!

Public accounting allows you to learn more and be exposed to more quicker. It also promotes people faster than private. However it comes at a cost and that is work life balance.

Go with the tax role. For a lot of reasons.
At an accounting firm, you have extra long hours during busy season but are more able to flex your hours if need for appointments. There is also less growth opportunity if you aren't going to get your cpa. In Industry, hours are more set but a lot less stress. I've been in both and both have their pluses. Now in industry
You should go for the industry role
