Headphones and coffee. I need the routine, I come in 5 days already and not actually required to yet. I'm the opposite, having to work remotely is a deal-breaker for me lol

Yeah. That's tough though if you manage/work with a team to be inconsistently available. I totally get it, but need ppl on my team free for 9am, 4pm etc meetings if/as they come up, I can't have to try to track them down/ see if this is an hour they felt like working when I need them, even if they get in all the hours over the course of the extended day, the whole point of the work day is dedicated time we're all working at the same time
There is no way I will RTO. If that becomes a requirement for my job, I will just not go for as long as possible then either go to a new job or leap to finally fully launch my own biz. I’ve been WFH since 2014 and I will never work in an office again beyond a day here or there. There is not reason I need to for the work I do. Remote work is the number one deal-breaker for me. It’s the only way I can work in corporate and keep some semblance of sanity.
I hear there are two camps of ADHDers - Camp Office Helps Me Focus, and Camp Office Is A Slow Death.
I'm firmly in the latter.
For me, I cannot perform at my best in that setting. Period. Not performing at my best means personal misery, and also career stunting.
I'm freelance, and so far have had enough clients to keep me fully WFH, either because they're remote themselves, or just don't expect their freelancers to come in.
I'm making some side plans for if that pool dries up - nurturing relationships that can help me adapt my client base, contacts that can allow me to launch my own thing, or just full on pivot to something else where movement and true flexibility are baked in.
Long story short, yes it's a dealbreaker. No, not resigning myself to it.
I had a friend get an HR exception because of her ADHD. She just needed a doctor’s note diagnosing her.
I got a disability accommodation to show me to WFH. I can still go into the office occasionally, but if meaningful work is needed (rather than just processing emails or attending meetings), then I need a controlled environment to do my best.
