At the end of the year, our school has us take all personal items home. I get it, but it’s a pain. A couple years ago, we got the carpet redone. That was the worst! Taking everything out of my room was awful. But I was able to get some needed organizing and dejunking done. One teacher at my school had a whole trailer of items when she came to our school last year. Do you feel like our profession leads to some hoarding habits?

Yeah there’s a lot of hoarders. Which is why I keep my classroom looking very empty so I won’t have to take everything out at the end of the year

You are very smart!! I can’t seem to part with things even if I haven’t used them in years. Then I end up forgetting about things I have all together.

Oh absolutely. I mean with the cost of everything it's easy to justfy keeping everything. A trailer though?? That's excessive to me. I like to keep things clean and roganized because it hasn't been uncommon for me to have to switch classrooms. Everything I have fits in my Suburban. It's how I keep myself in check lol and I do like to do a spring clean at the end of the school year.

That a good rule of thumb. If you need 2 trips, then you have too much! 😂 Yeah… this teacher’s classroom is extravagant and the kids love it, but definitely probably a pain to move. She has to switch classrooms this year because she is changing grades. So I’d hate to move all of that 😬

I am moving classrooms this year. I had to pack up everything to have it moved after the floors get cleaned in my new room. I am planning in doing some major downsizing as I put my stuff away and only keep what I really need.

We were asked to do that in the last few years, but not this year. Thank God because it's a pain.
