It's another space. There's not much except office manager but depending on the company that can also be downward. Chief of staff maybe but that's not always an option.

Yeah it's an iffy path and doesn't work in all fields.
Upward trajectory path is usually office manager, but be careful, as you could end up doing everything. So many jobs advertised seem to include being an EA/OM/and general skivvy doing menial tasks. My job has evolved over the years to encompass being all things to everyone, no promotion or recognition of course!
Same, I do pretty much everything when it comes to the office as well as cheerleader and morale booster.
Brutal truth... once you’re an EA, that label tends to stick no matter how much your KSA’s develop!! That’s why most EAs only stick around 4–5 years before realizing there’s not much room to move up. The good news is that your EA experience can totally be a launchpad into Operations, HR, or Project Management if you’re ready to pivot and keep growing.
Absolutely! I’m trying to network with PM folks now. It sucks that’s there’s no PM roles in my current company
