Been in media for 3 years (social to be exact). Now I feel like I want to join a startup where I can drive impact and growth. Had a realization the other day that I’ve always enjoyed being the scrappy underdog . Anybody know a good way to go about finding a startup job ?

I’ve been in my current role for less than a year and within my first 6 months multiple managers left as well as my hiring manager and multiple developers on a team I manage. I was kind of thrown to the wolves which is fine but recently another manager was just hired in the next pay grade who is walking into a much better position. Worst part is my new manager didn’t even know my title wasn’t the next level. When do I bring up that I feel I should be moved to the next level as well?

What are typical answers to “why do you want to leave your current role and company?”

Do you need specific product management experience to become a product manager in industry? Or can you rely on name brand and your work experience in related (in terms of skillset) areas, picking it up on the job?

Pretty highly rated consistently and up for director this year. For years been thinking of starting a business (franchise). Pandemic has put a dent in that but still viable option. Gross profit is 350k (median) and a line of business I’d be very interested in. Clearly this is less pay than new parter (but could open more than one eventually) and risk may be higher for failure. Long story short- my position is being subcontracted and likely means a pay cut. My wife and I moved 1300miles for this job less than 6m ago.
