Hi guys,
Need help,I am joining VMware Banglore on 27th June. During interview I told them I need wfh. They said it wil be wfh this entire year. Only mistake I did was i didn't permanent wfh. I took for granted like once I join i can opt for it ( as my VMware friends had said we can opt for it)
Now the offices have started, I am scared if they call me to office , I have 14months son, not willing to leave him n go for office.
So if I ask manager to give me permanent wfh will they agree ?

Go freelance. Stop letting people tell you what your worth and sell your own work.

If you can’t get a full time, what are the odds of freelance.
I’m not in Art @OP so can’t speak to the root cause, but wanted to chime in here about the Freelance comments. Don’t do it. The economy is still incredibly volatile, it’s a risk you might not want to take. Try to stay put while you search. There’s a good chance we might see more economic turmoil in the fall/winter due to variants.
Use the spring/summer while the virus is at bay—and economy is thriving—to land your dream job!
Smart advice. Best to always keep the job, even if it is painful.
Like Director 1 said ask for feedback, you probably will get a canned answer like the other candidate was a better fit. But sometimes they will reply truthfully although it’s rare.
But everything happens for reason. It’s frustrating and it hurts but I look at it like it’s their lost and they will regret it eventually (or not). Positive thinking and keep your self worth.
You will find something and if it doesn’t work out move on and learn the lesson of why it didn’t work when in the beginning you thought it was the best fit. Roles and situations change so fast bc people quit, clients leave or new clients come aboard. What seems like something great today, tomorrow it can be totally different. Even things from a personal perspective can effect your work situation.
The great thing about this industry is there is so much opportunity, agency, client side and freelance. Why do you think people move around so much in this industry?
Everything happens for a reason and if you put in an honest effort into everything you do and you truly believe in something, then good things will happen to you. Karma.
Thanks so much for the kind words and perspective!!!
I've been having this happen as well! The only difference is I don't have a job...
Hoping we both snag something soon! Good luck to you!

Keep going. You're close.
If you can't stand it where you are any longer, go freelance while you search.
It's an amazing time to be a freelance art director. Every single one I know at every level is constantly booked. Go to that and make $ while you interview. But ya, I had this happen to me recently as well and it sucks.

I’ll DM you, thanks!
