Hi Folks, I submitted documents 2 weeks ago for BGV in Tech Mahindra. I have not got any response so far from HR. However, last week they scheduled another interview and dropped me email just before 15 mins, yet i joined the interview but no one joined from their end. Now, HR is not responding. What should I understand from this case? Am I rejected? Tech Mahindra Tata Consultancy

Moved to Denver from East coast few years back.
Pros:
Infinite outdoor for all types of activities you can possibly think of
Lot of sunny days
Growing city so good real estate appreciation
Cons:
Extremely windy on many days
Bad drivers and road rage like nowhere else
Dry air, high UV impact (because mile high city) leading to early aging of skin
Hail storms leading to significant damage to car and sometime home roof
No other major city in driving distance unlike east/west coasts
Snow plowing in streets is probably non existent as here they rely on sun to melt snow which it mostly does, but when it doesn’t it gets ugly
Lol but I care more about my skin and it not aging rapidly than a bag of chips
Colorado sucks, tell your friends.
Seriously, Denver is getting crowded. Houses are expensive, and you don’t get paid enough to offset cost of living. Traffic to and from the mountains makes it harder to ski. You really have to fight for your kids to get into the right school to get a good education. There aren’t a lot of companies headquartered here, which can limit career growth.
However I love it here. I have a great job at a great company. I ski 50+ days a year, and mountain bike about the same. We have a place in Denver and a ski condo in the mountains. I am fine spending extra time with my kids to supplement in school learning.
I would come here if you really love the mountains and plan to make some sacrifices to use them.
Consultant 1: Sure it is a resort, and the base feels like one.
However the skiing doesn’t feel like a resort at all. More mogul runs than anywhere in the country. Fixed grip two person lifts. High altitude and cold temps. Eagle Wind has some of the steepest trees in the state. The cirque provides in bound terrain that is a true backcountry experience with crazy steep chutes (if you are willing to hike all the way to alphabelt chutes). There is a reason they say “No Pain, No Jane”
As someone considering moving to Denver from Dallas, can you explain your reasoning?
A1 - my wife and I love nature. Dallas is basically a concrete jungle. We want our free time to be hiking, fishing, snowboarding, not just going to a fun restaurant. People here are wonderful, pretty good school system, weather is good when it’s not July or August.
Rising Star
Denver is really nice to be honest. As a kid, I think it would’ve been amazing to have grown up with this access to nature. Don’t have kids, but I have heard that the Colorado education system is meh. If you don’t care about bigger city things Fort Collins (northern Colorado)is often hailed as the perfect place to raise kids. Not a bad commute to the airport, did it for 3 years.
Grew up in nearby Boulder / surrounding suburbs. Re: education, a few public schools are amazing and feed to top colleges (Cherry Creek High, Boulder High, Fairview High, Peak to Peak High); the others are average. Not many private school options relative to say, East Coast, but if you’re near a great public school, there’s really no need.
Denver
Denver
I loved living in Austin, but I'd want to try Denver
Denver is in the middle of nowhere. Austin out of the too but Austin is also overrated.
Okay so where do you live?
Denver
Grew up in Denver and it’s a great place to grow up even though I live and love being out East now. Suburb school districts (cherry creek and Douglas) are good and still reasonably close to Denver Denver. Every city likes to think they’re on the up and up (or at least said that pre COVID) but think it was and still is more true for Denver than many places. Also I think you’ll find being a transplant there is a lot easier than a lot of other places. Relatively few people have deep ties to the state but rather moved there so a good place to build a network with people who are also looking to meet people too
Can someone explain why Denver over austin?
Haven’t lived in Austin, but lived in Houston and visited Austin. It was okay, but Texas humidity sucks. My wife is from Denver and I love it there. We’re trying to get back.
It’s not Texas humidity, it’s Houston humidity. Don’t get those 2 confused
