Just got a job at Deloitte M&A in Atlanta and am currently looking to buy a house. Would you advise I buy closer to Atlanta or the suburbs? I personally want to be in the suburbs but I hear the traffic situation is quite bad. Current consultants in Atlanta, how much time do you actually spend in the office vs remote vs client site? Would you advise I try and stay closer to the office?

Hi all
Few months back, I accepted @pwc india's offer but didn't join.
Now I was referred for @pwc US but as I was applying for the job, the portal shows previous application with status as offer accepted.
Will pwc consider me again?
Does anyone have any idea on this?
Has someone accepted the offer but didn't join and later joined again after some months?
Please let me know
Any inputs will be helpful
Thanks!

Great job saving. I do agree with Amazon 1 - $10k in i-bonds is attractive as a safe option. Additionally, you are probably in the best position in 10 years with stock valuations finally coming back to reality. If you want to, I think you could put 30-40% of the remaining at the current value in an index fund, and the remaining if there is further sell-off (which there is an increasingly good chance of happening). Sit on it for the next 5 years, and watch your money grow :)
Personally, I grew confident after the first 3-4 years of investing to set money aside to invest in individual stocks. Started a decade ago with 0, now have 1m+ in invested assets
My extremely boring roadmap (just consistent long term repeat mode)
How I saved
- Saved 60-70% of my income as a bachelor (was traveling M-F, hardly had expenses) - Save 40-45% as a couple now
- Set aside all my bonuses each year
How I invested
- First 4 years, was exclusively in Index funds
- Last 6 years have a more diversified view as I grew more confident - Invest a part in index funds and part in stock picks
- I invest in no more than 5-7 stocks at a time and plan to hold my investments long term (that is my bandwidth limit to monitoring investments well)
-Have about 3% of my net worth on a cost basis in crypto
Great job! Keep it going!

Baby formula.
Why not invest in real estate. You can create a passive income for your self monthly through it
Yeah but not yet with this very high market. Wait till it balances out
Invest $5K per month for 12 months. Just S&P500 Index Funds all the way to avoid being locked in due to insider trading in case whatever you buy ends up becoming a client.
I have about this much too... am stuck paralyzed that I'll suddenly become broke again if I don't leave it somewhere safe and also that I'm losing money by not investing it 🙃
HYSA if you’re looking to use it anytime soon. Otherwise put it in VOO or equivalent.

Holy crap! Congrats, that’s a lot of savings!
I would probably put it in a retirement account if you aren’t planning on using it. If you may use it in a couple of years, shop around for a savings account with a high interest rate
Thanks! I’m planning on using it in a few years to buy a home. I have it in a high interest savings account now but the interest still isn’t high enough to account for inflation, it feels like I’m losing value
Carefully
All depends on what your priorities are. Without knowing your age, what your life goals are, what your desired spending habits are, etc., etc., that question cannot be accurately answered. I would recommend having enough in more liquid assets to cover any unexpected expenses or loss of income.
28F, biggest expense is a $2k monthly rent and second biggest is about $8-10k a year in travel. I want to purchase a home in a few years but unsure if I can afford it alone.
