I would probably start by applying for both and working on getting offers for both. Then compare them.
I would pick PwC due to the uncertainly at EY due to the split specially in audit.
There is no uncertainty in audit with the split. We are staying with the EY name. Tax is getting split between the two firms, so uncertainty would lie there.
I do not see the point in switching big4 just to stay in audit for a nominal pay bump. Switch service lines or go to industry
Disagree - I switched from EY to PwC as a new associate after a year to stay in my same service line/sector. PwC offered better clients, bigger marketshare, better technology and more stable team. If one B4 isn’t working for you but you like the work another team/firm might be a better fit (with the bonus of higher comp when you first switch)
Depends on what industry you are focused on/ interested in. PWC is far better for financial services. If you are interested in tech- EY is the better choice.
Also I think it depends on which office. Id much rather work at a firm that has clients in that office that are in my interest area. For example, I’m not going to go to EY Dallas to work in banking.
Come to PwC. Feel free to DM for referral or if you have any questions.
Would likely be in Houston market, where I am now. No real preference on industries I want to serve in at this point
Goes without saying Houston is going to be dominated by oil and gas. There’s some FS too. But if you are open to any, and don’t care about industry, maybe search thru the different websites and see if there’s anything interesting you see that aligns with your values. For example, PWC has the new My+ program, EY might have something they are doing, etc.
If you are interested in PWC, I can help with the referral and give you more info.
Same. May be different based on office
Do not come to EY it’s a mess here in audit
Pretty sure they are all just as messy
This is going to entirely depend on which office/city.
