”Big fed” attorneys, do you have any advice on moving from “little fed” to big fed (including USAO)? Is it feasible? What are the most important skills? Can I compensate for limited experience by emphasizing a demonstrated interest in public service (incl military)? Thanks in advance.

The most important skills are probably being fascist and racist and the ability to disregard the Constitution.

Okay thanks, that’s helpful to know.

Now is the time if you're interested in becoming an AUSA. I would look on LinkedIn and see if you can find an AUSA who works in your district and just talk to them. Also, immigration is the #1 priority right now. So if you’re interested you can get a position in that practice area.

It can absolutely be done. The bigger agencies usually have more support from more experienced attorneys than smaller agencies. I went right into a big federal agency with no experience. They will train you. I agree that now is the time for either USAO or ICE

Thanks for the insight! Any tips for getting in, or should I just keep applying on USAJobs until something sticks?

Do you recommend we go for a serviced/luxury apartment (e.g. Montaje, 345 Harrison, etc.) or hire a broker to get a “normal” apartment?

Any managed buildings recommendations within our budget? Also, what are some good brokers we could work with?

Thanks!

Hello all, I am a production manager for a sign design and manufacturing company. I have been with the company for six years now starting as lead graphic designer working my way to the production manager. since becoming the production manager two years ago I am responsible for 4 large format printers and 1 vinyl plotter. I’m wearing too many hats but I love what I do. I would love to be a remote graphic designer but I don’t know where to start. Any suggestions?

Can anybody explain to me the difference between IPE and PBC?
IPE being information provided by Entity vs PBC being Provided By Client.

Which one would you choose?

1) Am100 firm with 1900+ billable hour requirement, very reputable in the region
2) Am200 firm with 1750+ billable hour requirement, less reputable in the region because it’s a satellite office, pays $35k less than option 1

Other than partner track, salary/benefits, and switching from coverage to general comm lit, what qualities of the move should I be thinking about as I weigh my options? What do you do when you feel the goalpost has been/is being moved re: billable requirements? Like there's a spoken vs unspoken? I chose this job based on billables vs salary and what I'm being told I'm expected to do now is 20-30% (at least) > than what was initially agreed upon. Given my other life responsibilities, this is creating a huge strain & I feel like this is slowly getting harder & harder on my spouse & kids. I'm grateful to have lots of good work but not sure how to course correct.

Transactional associate. Lateraled 6 months ago and one of the biggest pain points has been my new firm’s inclination to “hop on a call”, which of course requires every single stakeholder to join. The end result being every call has 25 people on it and nothing actually gets done because no one wants to ask a question that could come off as silly. It’s destroying my ability to get anything done during the day. It’s a complete performance and it drives me nuts.
