The ones I knew were close to or older than 60 years old because they were always looking to retire early once they got that 7 digit comp number. Reminder that MD are W2 and at some B4 have a defined pension plan.
A good pension plan?
lol
Partners are lucky to be 7 figures
Yes they are. Average cash payout is more than that. Add interest and pension and at least 60% make that. More at D and P.
Never?
Homegrown - Never or low probability.
Direct admit - around 10y
Which company? D or EY?
Lol
It’s hard to believe someone making 7 figures has the time to respond on fishbowl or would be willing to share with someone that they make that much.
Only several B4 MDs make 7 figures
Several meaning few of them near retirement?
Tax- never. Consulting- probably also rarely?
Yes in Consulting MD can make 7 figures
Super helpful, thank you!
Partner comp in the big-4 is driven by their book of business. There are many in London and the main US offices who are easily clearing 1m+ per year.
Fewer MDs but not zero.
Would be good to define MD and ‘Making’. MD at Accenture includes folks who could (possibly) make P at B4. And lots who couldn’t.
I’m a 8th year MD and at about $800K all in (base, bonus, pension contribution etc). Since partners are K-1 they need to earn $900K-1M to have a similar take home. K-1 need to pay much higher taxes, their own healthcare in full, etc.
