Not the bravest line in the sand to draw, but I guess standing for "something" is better than nothing. I think companies refusing to back away from DEI efforts, such as Costco, is more impactful and bolder.

The government is the people. They are owned by the US Govt, therefore the properties are owned by the US public. Which is why it isn't cool when rights to drill for oil or minerals on public lands are allowed. Especially since those rights are very often given to companies for pennies on the dollar, since the Koch brother types are expecting a quid pro quo for their donations to politicians, especially Republicans.
