Well that is disappointing....at PwC we are expected to kneel but at least we can email them without being baby sat lol jkjk on the kneeling part..sometimes it's kneeling sometimes it's bending over sometimes it's puckering up and every once in awhile you get a partner that is just chill AF lol
After that, you can still reach up without permission, but you'd better be on point.
I've experienced it in other companies. Typically I'm the one asking for a review prior to submit a principal audience.

That exists in the U.S. too?! I've seen other countries with that kind of culture have this kind of issue.
Typically haven't had to get anything reviewed to send internally, if it's going out to a client I'll ask someone to glance over it if I feel the need. Internally, I'd ask a peer to see if I don't sound like a dick if I'm writing something while I'm pissed.
