What do you mean by outdated? Consultants 20 or 30 years ago were buying groceries and getting chores done.
You don't work 24/7. Come on now.
I didn't work 24/7 in the 90s and 00s, but I worked a lot. And I did it all in the office. Technology (or lack thereof) required it.
And yet, despite the all nighters, I managed ti buy food and pay my bills.
Somehow we all make it happen every year. Luckily mine is really only 6 weeks.
Me and my spouse are both in busy season now so it’s not really much easier. With a new born and young child as well. We pretty much outsource everything (nanny, day care, cleaning lady weekly, food delivery services, laundry/dry cleaning services). It’s a sad life but it’s what it is
I have twins and during busy season, I’m exhausted everyday worrying about everything. Food, chores, and OT works to catch up on deadlines. I barely have time to spend with family although I try to make it up on weekends. It is tough…
Why is that outdated?
coz it's no longer a thing. we are working the "busy season" hrs all year round.
How about just getting some sleep?
Live with your parents. Most of us do. Even my senior managers are living with parents.
How about some of us who don’t have parents around - either they are based abroad or have passed on?
Agree w/ your point, OP. I live alone - even my dog went to live with my parents - and Walmart+ is so worth it for the grocery delivery. My actual “busy season” (I have near the top utilization % in tax so always pretty busy) does not allow for much grocery shopping, errands, cleaning, etc, unless I want to do nothing besides work, attempt to sleep, and go pick up toilet paper and milk from a store. Starting to understand why so many partners I work with have stay at home spouses and their spouses stayed at home long before they were partner and that probably helped them to partner🥲
