Sorry to be that guy, but no one else pointed it out: 3% of $4,000 is not $150
Or Amazon gift cards
Yes you can.
Why don't you buy stuff you need?

This was really just a test @D5
You can use your credit card to venmo BUT some credit card companies have controls in place so you don't get points for things like this. E.g. you can't get credit card points if you buy a money order. Not sure if the same rule will apply to Venmo but it might
No idea why you can't hit a 4K limit (time sensitive) but it shouldn't be that hard unless it's under a month

carry the same logic but venmo what you still need to spend of the 4k the week before the deadline.
I'm just thinking of a fallback plan in case I can't hit it with regular purchases.
Venmo is a wallet, which is linked to your account directly. Not sure if you can use a credit card to venmo. Can you?

Do you trust your roommate?
Amazon gift cards need to be examined for AML
You do get 1% back on spending on Venmo so really your cost is only $80 for the whole 4000 spending
