Any materials, open source platform recommended to take on freelance data science project? When should I start actively looking and applying? I am a new grad who is working in tech as a marketing analyst I’m looking to pivot to marketing& sales data science consulting next year. Would like someone with similar backgrounds offer some practical tips.

I recently applied to the Content Designer, 2023 Graduate remote role at Atlassian and I'd appreciate it if I could get a referral.
Here are some details to aid in your decision-making:
- Last summer, I worked at Google as a UX Content Design Intern.
- I am currently in a grad program at
NYU and will graduate in Spring 2023.
- Before graduate school, I spent 3+ years as a Copywriter in Advertising.
I'd really appreciate any recommendation I can get at this time.
I’ve been trying to get into the top tier Associate Product Marketing Manager position Google for some time now for just an interview and I feel like business majors somehow have such a stronger chance in getting interviewed especially my business school and I feel really discouraged as an Econ Major and I have a lot of marketing experience that I’ve built over the years. Are there any non-business majors in the tech realm in non technical positions at Google that can advise me?

All materials for evaluations are internal and cannot be shared. Why would fishbowl be any different? Nobody’s tryna get fired for a stranger…
Are you asking if we have a rubric for our interviews or if it can be shared with you? Yes to the former, obviously not to the latter.
And I’m glad your friends didn’t share it with you.
I hope your friends flag your attempts to cheat to the recruiter. I’d be ashamed to hire someone who blatantly tried to cheat. 😳
Honestly, even just asking for this could get you flagged for a values issue and kicked out of the process. (I’ve worked very closely with our recruiting teams.)
Sharing those materials with you is actually a fireable offense, so please do not put your friends or anyone else in that position. That would make you not a very good friend and presumably, not a good future team member.
If you want to know what we look for in the PEI, there is a section of our website called “Interviewing at McKinsey: What we look for”. It’s as close as you’re going to get.
Use the advice on the mck website and do general research - there’s enough info out there to help you prepare and tailor your stories.
No one will freely give up the grading - it would ultimately get out there and undermine the entire process.
Lmao at “friends” in quotes. Maybe consider what kind of position you’re putting them in by continuing to ask them.
Try asking your friends for advice on what kinds of stories to prepare instead. Also read the careers website—it tells you quite a bit about what you’re being assessed on if you read it carefully.
Fwiw I have very close friends who have applied and I would not (and have not) shared the rubric with anyone. It does nobody, including you, any favors to let you game the fit interview. If you wouldn’t pass on your own that will emerge quickly enough and you’d end up pushed out.
Just please don’t use your Booth account at least when posting these comments. Your shaming all of us
We’ve told recruiters of values concerns before - be careful what you ask your “friends” for
If you have to fake the “fit” then you won’t fit and won’t stay. That part is meant to be just you being you.
Just throwing out a suggestion, maybe ask about how your friends there prepped for their interview? That’ll align you on a good track to organically (and ethically) craft a story that likely fits the rubric without any chance of someone thinking you tried to game the system.
Great ideas! Thanks everyone. Preparing for internships virtually across continents is super daunting!
Are you serious?
Wow
I mean you actually tried to ask it here thinking we’d send it to you?
