I have recently been getting interest from some larger companies like Amazon. Long preamble to ask, what are the day to day responsibilities/expectations of an SEM at a FAANG?

I mean I do not care much about money, I am pretty satisfied with the things I can do and things I can buy.

But the thing is our minds work with numbers. I see SDE roles at MAANG or other companies offer higher packages. I feel like I should aim for more in life if people can get paid more at this experience or age.
