Can someone please tell me what Treasury does at a bank? I loved retail banking due to memorizing products, aligning them w/ those in need, having goals and solutions and people to talk to (currently an analyst & this job is draining for someone who has to think quick & likes to work with people throughout the day). However, I don’t want to be a FA & I’m beyond the branch level so I thought maybe relationship management or treasury management would be a good pivot from retail. Thanks in advance!

You mean treasury management or the treasury function. Treasury management sells treasury products to companies like cash management system, deposit products, credit card product, merchant services. Basically being the end to end bank for a company.

Treasury function at a bank is similar to treasury function at most companies: cash management, short long term investment, hedging. The only thing might be different is Asset liability management

Hope that helps
