What’s it’s like working at EY tax? I heard they recently fired a bunch of people. Got an offer but not sure if I should make the move.
I see here that a lot of people think there might be layoffs in the Big 4s. I’m an A1 and haven’t been through CRT yet. Do you think underperforming seniors/A3 will be let go first over A1s?
The team I worked/traveled with for the past 5 years was laid off today. Seeing their Skype status show up as “presence unknown” just hit a nerve. 😢
I just got laid off and applied for UI and Medicare. Are there any other benefits I should apply for? Thanks in advance for your help.
Does anyone else think it's in poor taste to throw all out, expensive holiday parties when the entire groupe is experiencing layoffs?
Honestly how hard is it to get fired in public accounting. I feel like i struggle sometimes and I can’t complete my tasks in a timely manner. Definitely can see my annoyances on my manager face.
Sometimes I feel like exiting to industry, sucking at my job just enough such that we have to hire a consulting firm to do my work. Seems like the genesis for all my projects and no one gets fired
After 2 layoffs in 1 year, do companies/interviewers start to wonder if you’re the issue...or is my negative self talk getting the best of me?
best advice for someone looking to transition from consulting into tech? Was laid off recently from consulting and have around 1 yr of experience, but haven’t seen many entry-level strategy roles in tech — do folks have any advice?
I was placed on PIP due to unavailable projects... and right before my pip period was about the end, I got placed on a project. is it weird I was hoping to get fired and get my severance package?
For all fellow fishbowlers that were laid off, should we create some group to help each other out and use our networks to help out?
I had a recent manager that I’m thinking about reporting to HR. He called me emotional during a meeting, made a joke about how I was “fired” in front of the client, and in general berated me everyday. I fear the reprecrussions though. What do you think? Anyone else been through something like this?
Fear of being laid off (at 50) is so all enveloping that it’s affecting my health and sleep. I have a pit in my stomach all the time. Sitting alone at home (single) knowing if I’m on the list I’ll never get hired again. And not enough savings for the next three years let alone forty. Decision makers: when you lay somebody off you are condemning them to years of unemployment. fight not to do it.
Arguing consistently with manager on approach. Even told her last year workpapers sucked. I'm so fired. Lol 🤣😂🔫 and I'm on student visa And goodbye 5 at senior 1 after pulling an excellent year
To all the Deloitters - it's sad that there are layoffs.. Its good that you want to share the news and "warn" others but how about following a template -- level, office, service line, rating
Does anyone else feel so burned out from the pandemic that you just want to stop all work and kind of don’t care if you get fired? (But obviously you actually do.)
With all the recent layoffs I really hope Deloitte is not internally celebrating their “revenue growth”. For those laid off, wishing you all the best in your job search.💛
East coast is a complete clusterfuck right now. So much for starting PTO Wed AM...been delayed 4 hours and counting
Hello moms. Any tips on how to wfh with a very needy 8 month old ? Husband isn’t very capable of taking care of baby so he cleans and cooks. I also am too nervous about getting a nanny. I am in Survival mode with constant arguments with my husband stemming from the stress.
I don't know why I find this so funny...I've been trying to airdrop this picture to random people at the delta lounge for the last half hour 😂
As 2021 approaches, based on lessons learned while WFH / virtually, what are your thoughts on location based salary/pay/bonuses (e.g., tier 1 city $$$$$ - tier 5 city $?
Does anyone do compliance investigations? Could you message me? I’d like to change roles to compliance but was hoping for some more information about the role and the prospect of entering it. TIA!
MBB referral question. Have strong contacts for some MBBs in offices I am currently not considering applying to. Could someone at a different office refer me to the one I wish to apply to?
I keep seeing someone on LinkedIn publicly calling out and badmouthing agencies for not hiring her, as well as creating pretty controversial ads to display on her portfolio. Not to mention complaining about how white people are being discriminated against calling out organizations like MAIP. Anyone else seeing this and as mortified as I am? What are your thoughts, would you hire them? I won’t name names but if you’re reading this, for the sake of your career, STOP.
EY is not sponsoring TN employees for H1B anymore, but they are continuing sponsoring for GC.. lol this is so weird.
Help me spot my issues. I believe business will be forever changed and much more things will be virtual. I want to move my practice to as remote as possible and I want to move to a beach somewhere. I expect my savings will be 50-100k. I plan to meet with clients via zoom and travel when nesscary to events, and mandatory in person meetings etc. I'm mostly a transactional lawyer and don't have a ton of court appearances.
I am having a hell of a time applying to firms. Idk if it’s something with my resume or with my cover letters? What are some of the biggest reasons people don’t get past the application stage?
Saw a very very faint line on the Walgreens test. I’m 7 days before my next period. Is it too early to test ? Is a faint line (barely visible) normal, even when you are not pregnant? Trying to understand if I should be excited .
I negotiated a flexible working arrangement with my firm at the beginning of last fiscal year. It consists of a reduced salary based on a reduced number of total hours worked and a certain percentage of those hours being billable hours (my normal utilization % goal). My work-life balance did not improve and I gave notice to leave the firm last month, but my boss convinced me to stay through 10/15. Recently she insinuated that if I don’t meet the billable goal, I’ll need to pay back the firm...
Do you travel 🐟 only do onsite interviews on Fridays for the most part? If yes, do you ever worry you'll miss out on an opportunity because you couldn't interview early enough?
Anyone have experience with Alvarez aka A&M? What’s the work and people like? Considering a move from Deloitte and want to make sure culture is good.
MBB folks- Do you guys have issues getting staffed? How imp. is utlization as a performance metric? Do you have to BS a lot in your job or do you usually have expertise in areas early in your career?
Any other 🐠 enjoying this HOT mess at JFK Skyclub? Is there some sort of bake sale on diamonds I missed?
How should I inform my team leadership that I'm resigning? I understand that in-person is usually best, but I'm remote and dont think I'll see them in the office when I plan to submit my 2 weeks.
