Can you give me some ideas on how to get back to a career in the USA in 2026?
I studied a CS degree years back, then moved abroad. I spent 10+ years helping improve education in a developing country. I managed highly complex projects and operations at a national scale through data programs.
Now I'm back to the USA, and really lost on how to restart my professional life. The current economy does not help. Any idea of where to start? I've been applying to jobs with no success.

My profile includes also easy software development experience and then I moved to education where I worked with highly complex data programs. My role was that of a PM. I've applied to roles in tech, edtech, education administration, schools, PM roles in general. All I get is rejection after rejection. Even though my experiences and training show I produced real value for millions under quite challenging constraints.

The job market is abysmal due to all the AI layoffs. It's brutal out there. Good luck.

New York folks:
Are you aware of the CPA exam credit extension to 2021 for NY CPA candidates impacted by COVID19? It’s on a person-by-person basis and you need to request the extension. Has anyone tried doing this yet? Can anyone shine more light on this? The extension would really help me, but I’m not sure what more to tell them in my email than the fact that I couldn’t sit for the exams this Spring/Summer due to test centers closing in NYC.

I am looking to make a career change to HR. I currently make 75K as a sales and development coach. I had a recent offer for a state government position in a talent acquisition role but I’d be taking a $25K pay cut. I am extremely over qualified for the position but it could possibly be a stepping stone and gives me the time to acquire SHRM certifications and possibly start taking classes to get my MBA. My question is those currently in an HR role, would this move make sense to you?

Hey beautiful people,
I’m 27Y and work in tech. Unfortunately my carpal tunnel is getting worst slowly. I’m worry that I still have like 45 years more to be retired and can’t stop working because I have a f* mortgage to pay 😭 I have a super ergonomic workstation, but I know my hand needs a long rest, and I can’t do it… Does anyone relate? What do you recommend?

Should I leave my first permanent job as a team leader of 4 DPs in a FMCG business (only been there for 4 months) to join a huge Tech business for a 12months contract?

They offer me 60% more money than my permanent role. Circa 2000 dollars every month in my pocket

However, I am worried if I accept the tech role and I do not become permanent I will be looking again for a job in 12-24 months and my CV won't be showing a managerial position. Won't be showing any progress.
