I am curious of how old everyone is just wondering is there anyone over the age of 40 that have done this? I am curious I am in my 50s and I am thinking about having a baby, but I wanted to know how things went for you guys and just curious of your ages.
I was 39 when I got
Pregnant and 40 when I delivered. Planning on baby 2 at 42… giving it all I've got until I can't do it anymore
Started freezing my eggs at 33, did another cycle at 35 and at 39
These resulted in 10 embryos of which 4 were genetically normal. My due date with #1 is feb 26th. I am 41. If all goes well we’ll have 3 embryos left and we will likely have one mire child at some point over the next few years
41
Not in CT, but I (36) tried 2 IUIs at a major fertility clinic. They are slightly painful but over quickly. Neither took for me. I kinda wished I hadn’t wasted my time and gone straight to IVF. That said- if you’re younger than me- IUI is way cheaper and does work for some people and would save you from all the IVF shots, etc. I know someone who did IUI 5x and the 5th one worked!
IVF worked with my first transfer. I haaaated the IM injections but they are doable. I’m 12 weeks along and the knots and tingles are mostly gone.
Thanks for sharing!!! I'm turning 30 this year so was considering IUI first since it's less invasive and bc both of our results have been normal so no specific issues.
I did three egg retrievals (in 2021-22) and two transfers (in 2022 and 2025) at CARS (the Center for Advanced Reproductive Services) in Farmington, as well as one canceled natural transfer cycle in 2022. I had three separate retrieval protocols and did modified natural for both transfers (both successful). I had a blissfully easy and positive experience recently for my second transfer but I didn't have the easiest time for my first two ERs -- I had felt more like a number than a name until I tore my ACL and then everyone knew me there. 😂 I'm 41 now, and my egg retrievals were when I was 37.5. Feel free to ask me as many follow-up questions as you'd like!
Yup! Had a successful transfer in 2022 and I'm 18w from my October
IMO go straight to ivf if that’s realistic. IUI has low success especially compared to ivf and no way to test to chromosome abnormalities (just my two cents! This is a hard process physically and emotionally)
So we have unexplained infertility and I had a miscarriage last year (natural pregnancy) and I think IUI is actually a reasonable fit for us. We'll probably try that first bc it's alot less invasive than IVF... my insurance also doesn't cover infertility treatment so IVF would be significantly more of a burden vs IUI. Idk. I'm going to do some clinic consults and get more input.
