We all know the Koreans are always on their A game when it comes to skincare. My ultimate must-have is the Sulwhasoo Gentle Cleansing Foam. I was impressed at how beautifully this cleanser foamed up and how easily it removed pollutants from the skin while preserving moisture.
I’m getting this
I spend around $200 every two months on skincare products. I always pick the brands that don't contain fragrances and/or essential oils. They just irritate my skin and I'm not a fan of their scents anyway.
What brand are you using now?
Mine's pretty simple. Face wash first, toner, moisturizer and then sunblock in the morning. Same routine in the evening except for sunblock.
I just discovered the skin cycling method so that's where I'm currently at with my skincare journey. It's pretty much simple but makes a lot of sense. It basically just requires you to have rest days in between your active ingredient products. You guys need to check this one out.
I get facials done once every month depending on what I feel like my skin needs at that moment. Sometimes I get ones to tackle acne when I have bad breakouts, or simply for hydration.
My skin is on the oilier side so I exfoliate twice a week to get rid of excess sebum. I also do sheet masks afterwards just to soothe and hydrate my skin.
I always double cleanse since I wear makeup almost on the daily. Then I use toner, serum, spot treatment, and moisturizer in the evening. For mornings, it's basically the same, but I forego the spot treatment and use suncreen to seal it all off at the end.
I have oily and acne-prone skin. So, all of my products target acne. In the morning I use facial wash, toner, moisturizer, and sunscreen. I also use make-up products with niacinamide. I use the same routine at night minus the sunscreen but with a serum.
I pretty much just wash my face with an anti-acne product, toner, serum, moisturizer, and then a sunscreen. But I do make sure I exfoliate or do a more detailed routine twice a week. And that includes exfoliating, steaming, and facial masks.
If you have dry skin, I cannot recommend the Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask enough. It's incredibly lightweight and doesn't feel suffocating for the skin. A little goes a long way, too.
Great to know. I have combination
Morning: 1.Facial wash 2.Toner 3.Serum 4.Moisturizer 5.Eye Cream 6.Sunscreen Evening 1.Cleanser 2.Night Cream. I exfoliate once or twice a week. Then I do facials and microdermabrasion once a month.
My skincare routine pretty much looks the same as everyone else's. Except I visit my derma/aesthetician monthly for a pore extraction to get rid of my blackheads, white heads, etc.
Hair routine:
I get it done at Drybar every other week. $50. I have a lot of curly frizzy hair that is dry so it was game changing when I started doing this.
I wash it once a week at home when it’s not done at Drybar - I blow dry/ wand curl to save money. Takes me 1.5 hours to do with top line products and tools.
Starting to get highlights every 8 weeks. I am natural blonde that is growing darker hair as I get older. I am Alternating between partial and full every other time. $270-$370 before tip. I used to do 2x a year so I’m having a hard time accepting this cost.
I’ve been using The Kure line for shampoo/conditioner/leavin in. I also A blow dry cream, and Kenra blow dry spray to help it dry quicker. Paul Mitchell hair wand (I can’t imagine not having this now) and I got a $250 hair dryer on Amazon that is a lot like the Dyson. This was game changing- I had the babyliss pro dryer before.
Eyebrows threaded every 8 weeks. ($25)An eyebrow henna tint here and there as well. ($35) I have very blonde eyebrows.
Eyelash tint in blue black for $35. Not sure if I will continue with it
Moisturizer is my number one must have. As a guy, it's usual to not take care of ourselves. But moisturizer is a great start to any skin care routine. Trust me
Must haves would be moisturizer and of course you can never leave the house without sunscreen. Helps with aging too. If you want to look young, take care of your skin.
AM: micellar water cleanser essence, moisturizer, sunblock, PM: milk cleanser, serum, moisturizer, lip mask from Laneige. Occasionally use Neogen green tea exfoliating wipes. Try to do a hydrafacial once every 1-3 months depending on $$$
AM
- Micellar water cleanse
- iS Clinical Cleanser
- Paula’s choice BHA toner
- Renee Rouleau Vitamin C E Serum
- Fenty hydra SPF
I do skin cycling for my night routine (2 nights retinol, 2 nights off etc.) On my nights not using retinol I double cleanse then do a glycolic serum (Drunk Elephant), physical exfoliant, or the Dennis Gross peel pads, followed by moisturizer. Hope this helps!
PM Retinol Routine
- Micellar water cleanse
- iS Clinical Cleanser
- ZO skincare complexion pad
- Differin Adapelene Gel
- iS Clinical Moisturizer
I’m 26 here.
My skin routine:
Caudle cleanser, the ordinary peptides serum and niacinamide serum, this is morning and night. Sometimes I alternate the serums with Loccatine night serum(must try). Sometimes tretonin .0025% at night. In morning I also use neutrogena sunscreen. I kinda of think this sunscreen clogges my pores. I have combination skin, I also always have clogged pores on my forehead and cheek hollows.
I will get a normal facial every 2 months at massage envy.
No Botox yet, but interested. I can tell I will have 5-6 lines of wrinkles on my big forehead over time.
I also razor blade facial peach fuzz above lip and on face anytime I’m about to go outside for a social outing
For clogged pores (assuming you don’t have cystic acne and need to see a derm) you could try adding the Paula’s Choice BHA (toner) or the ZO skincare complexion renewal pads. Maybe try the Paula’s choice first bc it’s less expensive and if that doesn’t work try the ZO skincare pads.
What sunscreen do you wear? I don’t like super goop because I have textured skin
