DoorDash doesn’t do much for me but 10x points on Lyft makes that the go-to rideshare after using up my monthly Amex Plat Uber credit (especially if you can triple dip for Delta and Hilton).
I did run some basic numbers (feel free to poke holes, I didn’t spend much time on them) and what I’m seeing for travel/dining spend is:
• < $3,800: stick to a no-fee 1.5% cash back card like the CFU
• $3,800–$7,750: CSP
• >$7,750: CSR
This of course doesn’t take into consideration the 10x Lyft multiplier, Lyft Pink, or stuff like DoorDash, just pure travel/dining spend at a 2cpp valuation. Interestingly enough, I found that under these assumptions, previously there was no spend point at which the CSP was preferred (heh) over the CFU or CSR, so in some sense this move makes sense for Chase.
Actually, I realized I overlooked the fact that the CSR doesn’t earn points on that first $300 in travel spend that gets reimbursed (I think). So in reality it’s:
CSP = 0.04*X – 95
CSR = 0.06*(X – 300) – 250
and the conservative break-even annual spend is $8,650.

Hmm. The 10x earning on Lyft rides may be a good deal. Might switch to Lyft then. Would almost rather not have the discount on Lyft rides of work is paying, though...heh

I still plan on upgrading from my CSR. The $300 travel credit is still there, so the fee is still cheaper than some competitors.
Probably gonna downgrade to the CSP, and then get the Amex plat with the corporate discount

$120 in door dash with dash pass (no delivery fees) that’s what like 8-10 meals? Pretty cool.
