Tata Consultancy I am a manager in Capgemini... have an offer frm TCS. the designation being offered is Assistant Consultant.. 9.8 years experience( 5 yrs with Cap) Even though I am getting a package of 25Lakhs.. it seems like a demotion in designation.. Cg has offered to match upto 23.5 lakhs.. Is it worth moving to TCS on this grade? My primary reason for moving out of Cg is i m bored of beauocracy and WLB at current project. other downfall of short term projects is that you run the risk on being on the bench
I should also mention that the client is super chill so I have amazing work/life balance (I.e. not required to stay past 5pm)
I am in a similar position; I'm finding it easier to participate in career development / outside education/learning opps, but it is killing my networking.
Are you getting better opportunities on the longer term project? You should have increasing responsibilities.

IMO long term projects are much "easier", from a learning perspective, probably not be the best
I have 5 projects going on right now, some multi year others short term
I believe so, I have manager level responsibilities for this project(I'm currently a senior). But I'm also not developing in my own competency since my role on the project is different
One issue depending on your office and practice is making sure that you are growing your network
I'm basically on an island. I do attend out counseling family events so I know mostly everyone in my region
Happened to me. Was on an island, never could network or participate in firm activities. Kind a pushed my way into another work stream and now I got a new project that can help expand my network. Got to look at it like this. If you are no longer developing skills that you desire or interested in, time to go
