I have been reading a few articles talking about how FAANG isn’t as lavish as it used to be. My first question is if that is true? If it is true, my second question is what companies out there have the pay, benefits, and perks like FAANG? My last question is if it is as difficult to get into those companies? @D2 agreed on the questionable value of the Priority Pass lounge membership but the CSR absolutely makes financial sense for me even without the membership. As everyone and their mom has covered ad nauseam, the effective annual fee is $150 once you factor in the travel credit, and 3x points on travel and dining covers the vast majority of my non-Amex CC spend and allows me to redeem value far in excess of the $150 effective fee. At this point I just need a good card for the remaining grocery spend and I'll be set
And it's actually 4.5 since you get 1.5 redemption value...Though owning a CSR and a Freedom is the best (and the business equivalent of Freedom for the other categories it gives you)
Lol @ all airport lounges unrestricted. You are a dreamer.
G😤o😤o😤gle
The card is metal though

I see no value in the priority pass lounges. I can never access the lounges when flying domestically since they are always in international terminals. And then when I fly internationally, I just go to the star alliance lounges because they are so much better.
I don't see the value of the priority pass membership at all, and no value in the CSR, especially with the outrageous annual fee.
@A2 Lol good work at ruining your credit score by cancelling the card.
Remember to Opt into the Priority Pass once you get your CSR. Still free, but doesn't enroll you by default/automatically.
No value in CSR at all? One data point I have: auto-reimbursement of Lyfts with the $300 annual travel credit.
Doesn't take a lot of spend to get points worth more than $150...Plus primary rental car coverage etc etc
I get all of that free with my normal Chase Sapphire and Chase Freedom. I get points based on purchases and I actually get more points per dollar with my Chase Freedom during certain quarters.
I feel like this card was overhyped and people felt like it was the greatest card in the world. Thus, people signed up for it not knowing any of the benefits of it. For example, OP in this thread.
You get more points for the same spend and better redemption value for the points you earn. If you travel, which anyone considering a Sapphire should, there's almost no scenario where the Reserve isn't a better value than the Preferred
Why wouldn't you just downgrade to Freedom or FU and put it in a drawer?
@A2 try getting pre approved for a home mortgage right now.
Not all, only those that are part of the priority pass program, and you need the priority pass that comes along with your CSR. You are allowed once or twice to enter just with your CSR, and then claim the amount later
Yes guests are allowed, but every lounge has its own policy too
Annual fee is $450. $450 is still greater than $300
100,000 sign up bonus is worth $1,500 of travel. Even if you keep the card open and don't cancel it, that's effectively 10 years of your annual fee by itself.
I get 5x points with my Chase Freedom. 5x points is better than 3x points.
