WLB and pay are better here and it’s chill but little else has panned out from the offer. Im working as an IC, projects have little to zero support from senior mgmt, may not even get bonus because my role keeps being shifted beyond my control (but targets haven’t changed).

Love some people here, but idk if I’m growing or how strong network is, esp outside this industry

I am a noogler, joining from MBB. I struggle to find motivation and meaning in my role (2 steps below what I used to do in MBB); my manager and I are cordial but we don’t have strong chemistry (difficult to understand each other as our thought processes are so different). Does anyone regret joining a boutique consulting firm? I signed with a startup out of college (spring 2020) whose founding partners were all partners/Sr leaders at a few T2s. Our firm is super small (dozen FTEs) but does really good work (we charge premium rates and work super cool projects). I’m just having second thoughts as exit opportunities aren’t as prevalent as I thought, the pay/benefits don’t match industry/risk of joint a startup, and I’m not getting the network of a Big4 or MBB

Are alternative investments a good area to get started in? I’m making a career change from insurance and like asset management, possibly at Northern Trust.
