I’m 32 and I love hiring older ppl (50 and up) there’s no fuss they just wanna do their job and don’t constantly complain about some marginal bonus, or free meals. They’ll take their steady paycheck and interesting job and are just happy to be there.
I feel bad too but anyone and everyone should be mentally prepared for this in this day and age, and if they're not then they're too naive or oblivious to their work environment.
On the plus side, there's never been a better time in our lifetime to be looking for jobs than now!
ACN1, mostly true for younger and tech skilled. Ageism works against people and with older tech

It's why I'm leaving for med school - I've helped lay off thousands of people and it makes me feel like human garbage. Hoping to finally contribute something good to society after this.
How old are you as you begin this new journey?
@SD1 - My dad just got laid off and is having trouble finding a new job because of his age. If you're hiring, let me know! His background is in managing software updates and implementations in healthcare.
SM1, that’s not my dept, but I’m happy to refer! I work at NBCU and we have offices all over! Just let me know
@A1 - these guys have been there 25+ years. Hopefully they can just retire. Longest I heard started in 80s and very high up in the company. It’s not like the company isn’t doing well, they were posting yoy growth% in teens.
