Cold applied online to a role out of state. Someone from talent acquisition reached out to confirm that I'd be comfortable with relocating for the role, but didn’t offer an interview. I responded unambiguously yes. I haven't heard back in a week. While I know that’s not a long time, I’m hoping to get context from a recruiter about what this might mean. Is this a sign that I’m under consideration? If so, after how long would it be appropriate to follow up and reiterate interest?

I assume you are at least not being immediately rejected for the role. I would follow up this week, and get ahead of the holidays next week.

It sounds like you might be under consideration but no way to say for sure.I would try reaching out to the recruiter again to see if you can get a response. Hopefully you will hear back soon!

I’d reach out and re-articulate why you’re interested in that location - any ties you have, if you’re barred in the state or have started the process to waive in. They likely want to start with local candidates but my guess is your skills matched up well. Definitely follow through if it’s been a week by reaching out to the recruiter to really confirm your interest in the opportunity with some strong points.

We’re trying to avoid having an additional event Saturday night - any idea on if these guests would need to have food arranged for them by us and what that could look like on a cost effective budget.

Any tips for countering the $130k offer for more using the other potential offer while not risking a complete withdrawal of the current offer? I interviewed at a law firm and had my final round last Friday. The Tuesday afterward, I got a call from the recruiter saying the firm won’t have a decision for another week. I believe they’re interviewing other candidates. Does that make me second or third choice? And does the fact that I’m working with a recruiter hurt my chances of being selected due to the commission? Should I hold out for the offer or is 1+ week a sign that I won’t be selected?
