Combined net take-home £8000/month. Wanting to rent for £2300, with additional £300-400 in bills. Don’t want to buy as I will not be here for too long and fear brexit. Is that stretched?

General rule that I've lived by - all housing should be less than 30% (ideally 25%) of your pre-tax.

But honestly, when I was traveling every week, I spent <10% pre-tax on housing.

It's usually 1/3 of gross income monthly, so you're good. I personally live in a high cost area and paying %40 of gross monthly income before any utilities. If you can cut back on other costs that should be fine. You just need to be careful with your budget

I’m currently at 11% gross monthly income ...I guess that’s good. 16% if I include taxes and fees on my 2nd home.

You are fine

Any other effective strategies with only one month to go?

Lot of fear in the market right now (understandably so). The situation in Ukraine is awful and the potential consequences are scary to think about.

There are some who want to sell in fear of their investments falling further. Do not do this. Hold and continue to buy more. Continue your 401k contributions, and add whatever you can afford after every paycheck into your brokerage. Those who sold the covid crash were often late buying back in.

This is the dip you're worried about.

What’s the general guidance on the order to maximize retirement contributions for tax benefits for an normal individual and for a self employed/small business owner before moving to taxable accounts or alternate vehicles like cash value life policies?
I’ve seen for individual: match trad 401k->match roth 401k->max roth IRA->max trad IRA->max trad 401k->max roth 401k->max HSA
For self employed: max SEP IRA/solo 401k->max roth IRA->max trad IRA->max HSA

Of course situations differ but in general?
