I just started my first day at a startup (on the executive team) but a new friend of mine wants to utilize me as a part-time portfolio manager/financial advisor given my entrepreneurial, VC, & operational background. His holdings are $10m+ and mostly in real estate but he wants to get more involved in tech investing. I have a background in both and it won’t violate my obligations. What terms should I offer him? I was thinking: 1% AUM and 10% profits. Please offer any advice.

What is the average salary for an Account Manager position? For context, the agency is 100% remote and doesn’t base salary based on the employee’s location. Was originally told $80k but was then informed the recruiter made a mistake and that it will likely be mid-70s at the highest.

$530k HHI, $250k cash on hand, $1.2M investments/retirement. Plan to buy $800-900k house as our first home, but thinking of the best approach given rates today. My thinking is that we (i) put $200k+ down and get a 5/1 ARM. (ii) put everything we save moving forward toward paying down the principal (after maximizing retirement accounts). Should be able to do $100k per year. (iii) If rates go down below 4.5ish % for 15 year fixed, refinance and stop aggressive payment. Thoughts on this approach?
