Considering signing an offer from ACN applied AI based in SF as a ds analyst and am wondering what’s the chance of exiting to a big tech as data scientist after 1-2 years? Right now don’t have other better offers (declined Deloitte) at hand and don’t want to risk having no jobs. Also, kinda curious about the job in consulting and the opportunity of networking with people from different industries. But I am a little worried of the exit opportunity.

I would love to!!! But I don’t have enough likes🥲I’ll create a post getting more likes
You can definitely parlay this into Big Tech down the line, tons of people have. ACN has a strong brand in tech and digital.
Regarding “having no jobs” if this is all you have and they have you on a deadline, first ask for an extension, if they can’t do that or you still don’t have something better when the next deadline comes, accept it. If you eventually get something better and have to go back on your ACN offer, I’ll let you in on a little secret, that’s not a big deal AT ALL. ACN will be like “oh shoot” then move on to deal with the other 10,000 offers they gave out.
Hi DS consultant 1, it seems I still cannot dm you, but I really want to talk. Can we connect in some other ways? Or could you please dm me if you can? Thank you!!
Thanks just emailed!
I’m attracted to the ACN job also because the people on my team are super smart people (from Universities such as Umich, Stanford, Berkeley , MIT, UPenn etc and have STEM degrees) they were helpful too when I connected to them on LinkedIn. But I’m not sure if I wanna stay in consulting forever…
Agree with the other commenters. Also, if you are out of SF office, you may actually be placed on a client to whom you eventually want to exit.
Thank you guys for all the inputs! Really appreciate it! I actually just got rejected by FB in the morning and I think the reason came from the product sense round. I wonder if working at consulting will help me develop product sense? With that being said, my goal now is getting into FANNG/tech while still open to consulting, but not sure if that will still be my goal after 1-2 years in consulting. Any thought would be appreciated!!
A lot of people will use consulting as a stepping stone into another field or industry more aligned with their interests. You could definitely do a lot worse than the job you’ve described. Congratulations on your offers!
I’m currently a ds consultant in the applied intelligence sf office and exiting to faang next month- DM if you’d like to talk
