Especially when both opps are internal, I'd argue it's best to be transparent with your manager. Especially early in your career it's hard to pinpoint exactly what you want before having the chance to interview and learn different areas. I would just be honest with my situation, how I feel - show gratitude to your manager and ask for their support. if they're a good manager they'll understand
Exactly. It is one way of showing respect and gratitude. I'm sure he will help up decide in the future. But always remember to put your interest forward.
That's an uncomfortable situation to be in, but you have to remember that what's best for you is ultimately your best choice. You couldn't help the timing of the situation, and there's no way you could have known. But, it's best to do what's best for you--it might be an adjustment at first, but your manager will be ok!
Do what is best for you. I have gotten several offers at once and while its a good position to be in, its often really hard to decide. I always do a pros cons list and weigh out all options. At the end of the day, take the offer that aligns most with what you are looking for.
Go for the role that you are interested in and will help you grow in the future. Be honest with your manager about your plans. Looks like she is very supportive.
