Is PDM ever going to be less crappy?
Hi everyone. A PDM specialist here. Joined Deloitte 5+ years back as ‘Senior Solution Engineer -On-site’.Later in June 2017 all these ‘on-site’ folks got rebranded as PDM. Slowly started to realize how PDM is getting sidelined as a ‘discountable’ group. Sometimes I feel contract jobs are better than being at PDM , but obviously tied up with D for visa related issues. No career progression so far and don’t see any positive changes in the near future as well.I think it’s high time to call it a day.
Does PDM get PTO paid out if we leave?

Do not make the mistake of joining PDM.It’s not actually worth it . It’s like a contract job for a specific project. Practically no bench time and there is always a risk of getting exposed to unemployment. Apart from that firm treats PDM stream as secondary to other streams , with lesser pay , benefits , no travel etc. Most importantly no career progression and they expect the PDM folks to work on same role until the end of project . Personally I don’t recommend PDM to anyone with decent career aspirations.
all of this is accurate. PDM isn’t for everyone
‘Multi year’ is part of a standard template used and that’s not specific to project level. I know multi year projects that are on monthly sow and PDM folks are given last day notice on a monthly basis .
Thank you!
I am not PDM but pay alot for my insurance for my family
I only pay $90/month for a Bronze HSA plan at Booz. I found the insurance premium deductions to be high for an HSA plan at Deloitte PDM. It made it so that D would have had to pay considerably more salary for me to get the same take home and benefits.
Thanks for your input. The project I will be assigned to is a “multi-year” project. Not sure for how long it holds for.
