California single plaintiff is in the 75 - 100k range.
This is clearly a plaintiff’s lawyer talking. Nuisance value for a single plaintiff case in California is between $10-25k, pre-lit. If there is a significant amount of work performed, e.g. written discovery complete and at least two depositions taken then it can be in the $50-100k range. It really just depends on who plaintiff’s counsel is and the defendant company’s appetite for litigation and settlement. I have many Midwest based clients that flat out refuse to pay out settlements above a couple hundred thousand.
In single plaintiff litigation in Georgia, I’d say 10k for larger corps and 5k for smaller employers.
$25-$50k in NYC
Indiana - $5 to $10k for single plaintiff. A lot of judges will expect you to be willing to go to $15k though.
Alabama- $5k-$10k
CA - 5–10k pre-lit. Lit 25-50k. When I practiced on east coast it was kinda the same. I had a judge tell my client he had to pay 15k during a settlement conference in Jersey once.
