If your goal is to build up a nest egg quickly, then your suggested path makes sense. But you are correct - you would definitely be making some sacrifices. I mean, you can still fit in workouts, but prepare to do so at o-dark-thirty in the morning, or late at night, if you still have the energy.
Depends on your long term work interests. For example, are you interested in accounting vs m&a vs pure strategy vs other types of work? Also depends on your personal values. Do you value money and prestige vs personal life and relationships?
I’d suggest skipping IB and trying to go straight into corporate m&a / corp dev. The pay is lower than IB, but still very decent. The hours are lower than IB and in my experience lower than FDD. Offering you the best of both worlds.
Finally. Making the switch to corp dev can be tricky. Since often they hire ex bankers. But I’ve also seen lots of people transfer from FDD. Just keep an eye out and network with recruiters and something will come up 👍
