Currently at mbb and strongly considering the Kellogg 1Y MBA program, given I am not looking to pivot (hopefully get sponsored and then return) and 2Y just feels too long, also given I‘ve already got a masters and am a bit older. However, would it be a mistake not to go to HSW in case I get a chance?

A good chunk of the cohort is BCG and Bain sponsored and don’t want to take two years away from their career. Nice way to get the checkmark of a high quality institution.

like

If your plan is to stay on the partner track at your current firm, HSW offers no value over Kellogg. If you plan to exit, then you have to think about what you want go exit into and see which schools are more suited for those exits. Imo, I'd prefer 2y H/S, then 1y Kellogg, then 2y W, but that's because I didn't care for partner track.

1Y Kellogg over 2Y Wharton?

Is this some type of special mba program?

Yes, Kellogg has a 1 year MBA program

like

the kellogg 1 yr is an awesome program and great option for your situation. That said, I’d give Harvard a long look - that alumni network is unmatched

I did insead for the same reasons you’re likely looking at Kellogg. My logic was “why take two years?” And brand difference is mitigated by not searching for a job for the next minimum 2 years (sponsorship period)

Do tech companies like FAANG hire strategy consultants? Starting at an MBB/T2 next year and curious if tech companies leverage consultants as much as other industries. Part of me wonders if they are in such high growth right now that consultants can’t add as much value, thus maybe a smaller presence. Thoughts?

I feel like I’ve really mucked up my early career choice. I enjoy mechanical engineering and I do believe that it CAN be a broad field, but nowhere near as much mobility as data science, business analytics, consulting, etc. I plan to get my MBA in the future and transition to project mgmt, but that’s well over 5-7 years away. Has anyone felt like they made a bad choice for undergrad, or do I just need to give myself more time? Currently an R&D Engineer at a private food/bev manufacturing company

The position is remote & I’d like $20/hr. I’ve invested in myself as a coach & plan to complete board certification by early 2023
