Aren’t we all minions in some way? I would love to stay but don’t know PA has its own uncertainty
Leave, I was in your position a few years ago and I drank d koolaid and turned down the offer. My raises have been shitty and I wish I took that offer 3 years ago. 3 years after I’m still making less than that offer so go figure...
Senior 1 at $65k is the real story in this post.
Get out, decent offer. Ask about future raises though.
If you're thinking about it, then you don't see the exponential value of staying in PA longer; don't tell me I'm drinking kool aid, but this really isn't for everyone, find the right place to pivot...if you do decide to leave you better make sure there is enough room for a trajectory of growth otherwise you will be doing 2% raises and stuck for years.
Yeah I’m senior 1 at 65k as well.
Leave. Say better pay, better hours, better work life balance, would take you a while to get to 90 if you stayed
Make sure if a Corp position is what you want. You would be a minion...
@Kpmg1 makes a decent point. I’m currently happy, too. But it’d be foolish to overlook the fact that it’s very easy to boomerang and the firm will match your current industry pay. Just maintain your relationships.
Leave and come back as heavy manager in 2-3 years. You will be even more valuable
Stay in PA as long as you can. If before manager, I recommend staying in client service, perhaps at a small advisory style firm. Don’t jump to Corp unless it’s director or better position. My two cents
NY assurance
$65k is pretty standard for senior 1 in southeast
Turned down a similar offer this week. Main reason I didn’t accept was because I knew I would have been stuck in an accounting/financial reporting position and it would be tough to transition into anything else. Figure out your long term goals and see which position gets you there best. Don’t just take the money and run, there is value to big 4. You will also get offers for other positions if you turn this one down
Your current salary is too low for senior level. That is staff level salary, at least in Deloitte tax
I had a similar offer and turned it down this week because of the advancement track in the industry position. Just my situation.
65k is the going rate for an assurance senior 1 in my market. Don’t know about other markets though
Honestly!! Do what’s right for you!!
I'm staff 2 at 62K lol where do you work location wise that's low lol
^ what market are you in?
