Currently wrapping up my first year as a investment banking analyst. Have ~10 or so interviews the next couple of weeks for strategic finance, corp dev, and corp strat. What are exits like for each of these and how do they compare? Is there one role that is typically seen as more prestigious, etc?

- Strategic finance seems to usually be a role at growth stage companies that don't necessarily have a defined m&a pipeline/strategy. Maybe involves more creative work and market sizing/mapping work.
- Corp Dev will be at generally more mature companies and the main role will be centered around m&a. Co-workers will be ex-IB usually.
-Corp Strategy will be more ex-MBB people. Seems like fun high level work but not much execution from their side, but I'd assume they have the ears of C-Suite and Product teams.

Exits wise in all of these roles people stay 2-5 years in their position until promotion or lateral to other companies if there is no upward mobility at their company. No path to PE (trust me on this one) so folks just hop around between the 3 depending on what kind of company and work you want to do.

I was interviewed at EY UK on 7th Sep. It was quite smooth. Since then I haven't heard anything back from them though interviewer claimed SLA to get back with outcome of interview is 48 hours. On portal it still says I'm in hiring team phase. It was level 1 interview.

Should I take this delay as rejection?

Been working on mostly (about 70%) public sector policy and strategy at Big 4 for most of my career. Often go up against MBB on RFPs and have a decent win rate. Would I be too senior to come in as a lateral hire? I guess it’s all about client networks at this level, and being government, it’s locationally dependent - so which markets have need?

I've been exploring exit opportunities for a few months and still holding out for the right opportunity. However, I've had A LOT of recruiters reach out to me for positions that are way below my current salary. They do the whole "your background and expertise is exactly what we're looking for" then turn around and offer a salary range that is 20k below my current level. My resume clearly says I've got 10yrs experience and an MBA. I **don't think* I should be getting offers of 80k-100k
