DCA folks: Does investing weekly vs. investing every other week yield a material difference over time?

Not a very long term player but I invest every 15 days and set aside some money for future. When the markets dip, I buy. It has worked well for me. Bought some ETFs towards the end of day and will buy again on dips.

Long term, the sooner the better, instead of DCA.

A person who fully funds their Roth IRA Jan 1 will do better than the person who does 12 equal contributions the first day of each month.

If you have money then sure. Most of us invest paycheck to paycheck and hence DCA works fine.

I do every other week that my paycheck isn’t going into 401k. That way, I’m covered every week.

Hi All, I fell victim to the recent tech layoffs in July when our startup had its funding pulled mid-series B. I was let go without severance and am starting to panic because sending out resumes in this job market feels like screaming into the void. Do any of you have any hiring leads for mid/senior level marketing communications positions? For reference, my last role was Director of Comms at a consumer health tech brand, 12 yoe total (+6 PR agency) tc $160k based in San Fran.

401k question:
It seems generally advantageous to lump sum your Roth IRA each year as early as possible vs DCA since it can accumulate returns at a higher rate over time. That being said, does this apply to 401k as well? For ex: is there any downside in just front loading my 401k contribution completely each year if I can cover living expenses in the meantime? (i.e putting 100% of paycheck into 401k contribution until limit) thanks!

Any thoughts on buying a 3bdrm condo in Chicago? I know the market is hot and property taxes are high, but wondering if the chicago market is like San Francisco and will keep going up no matter what happens with interest rates, the economy or property taxes. Should I take the plunge and buy or do many you think I should hold off? I know no one has a crystal ball, but just trying to get a sense for the current thinking from more experienced home buyers. This will be my first home purchase.

They say the US has free speech, but to what extent is this true in 2022?
I graduated from GSB, live in San Fran, am left on most things, but find that it’s extremely easy to be ostracized for having any opinion even slightly against the “woke left.” Beyond the obvious ostracization online, it’s extremely true in social circles / gatherings if even a slight opinion is expressed that swings towards the right. Funny though how many of the moral high ground proponents also engage in NIMBYism.

I just started this role only a few months ago but am already feeling like I can take on more, but not as much as a HR manager. I’m struggling to understand where exactly it is I can go from here. I’m 25, have 3 years of experience, and get paid $59k/year.

Where does one go from here? Thanks in advance for any and all answers!

Roast my terrible financial progress but appreciate I’m getting there. I’m 30, $130k base, no debt. Below is my financial layout. Your thoughts:

1. $10k equities all bought in March 20, 20% up. All longs
2. $3,800 into VFIAX adding $125 every Monday
3. Roth 401k $35k. $10k OUNZ, $5k gbtc, $20k VFIAX
4. Roth IRA $25k $10k OUNZ, $10k VFIAX $115 a week auto every Monday, $5k GBTC
5. $30k cash, $5k crypto

Expenses are low and saving $3500 a month. Thoughts, besides hating on my GBTC & crypto?

Does anyone know - I’ve already received my tax refund and it’s in my bank. I didn’t file the form 8888. Can I still use those funds to buy incremental I bonds now or did I miss my opportunity by not doing it when I originally filed?
