I’m new to a rather large health agency. The other day a higher up in a meeting made comments about how he wants people to get cancer. That cancer makes money. That he wants to go on vacation with it.

For the past year I have applied to in-house positions without so much as an interview. I review the job descriptions to make sure my skills are transferable, tailor my resume to the required skills and when possible, provide a cover letter indicating why I want to move in-house. How should I handle a co-teacher who says things in class that are ableist? I don't think she realizes she's doing it, but with more than a few vision or hearing impaired students in her classroom it's pretty noticeable to me. None of them have complained about it, but I doubt they would. I just think sayings like "what are you blind?" are pretty tone deaf when you have vision impaired students. Even if it isn't aimed at them or it's said jokingly.
